Tottenham Hotspur youngster Mikey Moore has held individual talks with FC Köln coach René Wagner as the German club work to help the winger score his first Bundesliga goal.
The 19-year-old joined Köln on a season-long loan in August but has yet to find the net in six league appearances.
Wagner remains confident in Moore's ability, although the youngster's goalscoring wait continued during Saturday's goalless draw against Schalke.
Köln coach confident Moore will deliver
According to German newspaper BILD, Wagner held a one-to-one conversation with Moore last week as he looked to encourage the Tottenham loanee.
"He's longing for that one moment — for things to finally click!" Wagner explained.
The Köln coach believes Moore possesses the individual quality to trouble Bundesliga defenders, particularly with his pace and dribbling.
"In this league, he's capable of beating almost any opponent in a one-on-one situation," he added.
Moore returned to Köln's starting line-up against Schalke on Saturday, 24 October, but was substituted in the 68th minute as the match finished 0–0.
He has now featured in six of Köln's seven Bundesliga fixtures this season.
Although Tottenham credited him with creating a goal on his debut against Stuttgart, some statistical providers have not registered an official assist because the move ended in an own goal.
Tottenham monitoring winger's development
Moore joined Köln on 31 August after returning to Tottenham from a successful loan spell at Rangers.
He scored seven goals in 47 appearances for the Scottish club last season and won the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year award.
The England youth international subsequently moved to Germany to gain further first-team experience.
Importantly, BILD reports that Köln's loan agreement does not include an option to buy, meaning Moore is expected to return to Tottenham next summer.
Köln sporting director Thomas Kessler believes the winger should use his time in Germany to prepare for a greater role in North London.
"For Mikey, the focus now needs to be on his continued development here," Kessler told BILD.
Köln legend backs Moore's potential
Former Germany international Pierre Littbarski has also expressed confidence in Moore's ability.
The 1990 World Cup winner praised the youngster's movement, pace and willingness to take risks, although he believes Moore must become more effective in front of goal.
Wagner has similarly stressed that young players need time to adapt and that confidence cannot be forced.
