Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa has been backed to succeed at Manchester City, with Robert Maaskant believing the Algerian possesses the quality to compete at the highest level.
The 24-year-old has impressed in the Eredivisie and Champions League, strengthening his reputation as one of Feyenoord's most dangerous attacking players.
However, there is no confirmed indication that Manchester City are pursuing his signature.
Hadj Moussa backed for Manchester City move
Speaking on the Sportnieuws.nl Voetbalpodcast, Tuvalu manager Maaskant praised Hadj Moussa following Feyenoord's 1-1 draw with Fortuna Sittard.
"I can see him playing in Spain just as easily. Especially in Italy," Maaskant explained.
"I was watching Manchester City for a bit on Saturday, and then I think: he can play there too."
Maaskant compared the Algerian's attacking threat with that of City's Jérémy Doku.
Although he considers Doku more explosive, he believes Hadj Moussa is equally capable of troubling defenders in one-on-one situations.
The Dutch coach stressed that performances against Champions League opposition would provide the clearest indication of the winger's potential.
Feyenoord winger valued at €40million
Hadj Moussa joined Feyenoord in summer 2024 and has developed into an important attacking player.
He has scored seven goals and provided two assists in 13 appearances across the Eredivisie and Champions League this season.
His performances have prompted discussion about a possible future transfer, although no agreement with another club has been announced.
Maaskant suggested Feyenoord could demand a substantial fee.
"What was his value, €40m? That won't have decreased after his performances," he said.
The figure reflects Maaskant's assessment rather than a confirmed asking price.
Champions League performances strengthen reputation
Hadj Moussa previously scored against Manchester City in Feyenoord's dramatic 3-3 Champions League draw in November 2024.
Maaskant believes such performances against elite opposition carry greater weight than impressive displays against weaker Eredivisie sides.
However, he expects the winger to remain at Feyenoord until at least the end of the current season unless an exceptional offer arrives.
