Roberto De Zerbi hints Tottenham are close to signing another attacker

Roberto De Zerbi has revealed Tottenham Hotspur are close to completing another attacking signing, insisting the club's ambitious summer recruitment drive is far from over.

Spurs have already spent around £237 million on six new arrivals during the transfer window, strengthening several areas of the squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

Despite that heavy investment, De Zerbi has confirmed Tottenham remain in the market for more attacking reinforcements.

Speaking about Tottenham's transfer plans, De Zerbi admitted the club have not yet finished building the squad he wants.

"The transfer market, it's not finished for sure, but we completed 60 per cent of our project in the transfer market. Now we have another bomba."

When asked if another signing was close, the Italian remained optimistic while stressing that negotiations were still ongoing.

"I hope, but it's not finished for sure."

His comments suggest Tottenham are making significant progress behind the scenes as they continue pursuing another forward before the transfer deadline.

Standard Sport understands Manchester City winger Savinho remains one of Tottenham's leading attacking targets.

The Brazilian is reportedly keen to leave the Etihad Stadium in search of regular first-team football after informing City of his desire for a move earlier this week.

Savinho's pace, direct running and ability to attack defenders are qualities that fit the profile De Zerbi and sporting director Johan Lange identified during their recruitment planning earlier this year.

Tottenham are also believed to be exploring the market for another striker alongside their search for a winger.

Explaining the type of wide player he wants to sign, De Zerbi said any new winger must complement Tottenham's existing full-backs.

"Before bringing in a winger, we have to consider the full-back, because we start from the full-back, from the player we already have."

The Spurs boss also praised the quality already available in his squad, highlighting Pedro Porro, Destiny Udogie, Andy Robertson and Djed Spence as key players within his tactical system.

Rather than simply signing the most exciting winger available, De Zerbi wants an attacker capable of maximising the strengths of Tottenham's attacking full-backs, a hallmark of the Italian's preferred style of play.

With the transfer window still open, Spurs appear set to continue one of the Premier League's busiest summers.

Tottenham are expected to continue negotiations for a new winger and could also pursue another striker before the transfer window closes. Savinho remains one of the leading names under consideration, although De Zerbi has indicated discussions are still ongoing before any deal can be finalised.
