Tottenham make ‘most concrete contact’ for Marcus Rashford

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made the most concrete contact for Marcus Rashford as intermediaries work to find the Manchester United forward a new club.

Rashford has returned to Old Trafford after Barcelona decided against making his loan move permanent, despite the England international helping them win La Liga.

The 28-year-old contributed to 26 goals during his spell in Spain, rebuilding his reputation after a difficult period at Manchester United. His future remains unresolved, but Tottenham have now emerged as a serious option.

Roma and Napoli have both been offered the opportunity to sign him, but neither Italian club has shown strong interest so far.

The main issue is financial. Rashford reportedly wants a salary worth €8.4 million per year after tax, while Manchester United could also demand a transfer fee.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are said to have made the “most concrete contact” for the attacker.

Spurs need another left-sided forward, making their interest understandable. Rashford can also play through the middle and remains dangerous because of his pace and ability to attack space.

However, there is a significant obstacle.

Rashford wants to play Champions League football next season and is reportedly waiting to see whether other opportunities emerge before making a final decision.

That means Tottenham’s contact has not yet convinced him to commit to a move.
