Manchester City defender Rayan Aït-Nouri has reportedly appointed a new agent amid growing uncertainty over his future at the Etihad Stadium.

The 25-year-old has struggled for regular football since joining City from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2025, with his situation becoming increasingly difficult under manager Enzo Maresca.

Aït-Nouri's latest decision follows a turbulent international break with Algeria and has raised questions about a potential transfer.

Aït-Nouri struggles for minutes under Maresca

Aït-Nouri arrived at Manchester City after establishing himself as an attacking left-back at Wolves.

However, his debut season was disrupted by an ankle injury and Africa Cup of Nations commitments. He made 28 appearances under Pep Guardiola, playing 1,605 minutes.

Nico O'Reilly was preferred at left-back, and that hierarchy has continued since Maresca replaced Guardiola this summer.

Aït-Nouri has played just 15 Premier League minutes this season, alongside one EFL Cup appearance.

His frustration reportedly extended to international duty, where he refused to enter Algeria's match against Zambia after initially being overlooked.

He subsequently left the national team camp without playing, with Algeria manager Brahim Hemdani indicating that his international future would be addressed.

New agent could influence Manchester City future

According to Algerian outlet DZ Foot, Aït-Nouri has now parted ways with CAA Stellar and appointed Epic Sports, led by Ali Barat, to represent him.

The decision marks another change in representation for the defender, who previously worked with Jorge Mendes.

CAA Stellar helped arrange his move from Wolves to Manchester City, but his limited opportunities have prompted renewed uncertainty over his career direction.

DZ Foot reports that Aït-Nouri's estimated Transfermarkt valuation has fallen from €40million to €35million.

The outlet suggests the appointment could pave the way for a transfer, although no prospective destination or formal negotiations have been identified.

It also remains unclear whether his representatives will explore a January departure or wait until next summer.

Key Points

  • Rayan Aït-Nouri has reportedly appointed Epic Sports as his new agency.
  • The Manchester City defender has played only 15 Premier League minutes this season.
  • Nico O'Reilly remains ahead of him in Enzo Maresca's left-back plans.
  • Aït-Nouri recently left Algeria's international camp following a disagreement over playing time.
  • His agent change has fuelled transfer speculation, but no destination has been confirmed.

What's Next?

Aït-Nouri's immediate priority will be earning more opportunities at Manchester City. His new representatives could assess transfer options ahead of January, although there is currently no confirmation that City intend to sell or that the defender has formally requested a move.
