Nottingham Forest manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed that Nikola Milenković and Igor Jesus will miss the Premier League trip to Crystal Palace, while Neco Williams faces a late fitness assessment after falling ill.

The setbacks leave Forest with concerns in both defence and attack as they prepare to return to domestic action following the international break.

Milenković ruled out as Igor Jesus faces weeks out

Milenković had recently recovered from an injury and returned to action in a friendly during the international break.

However, the Serbian defender suffered a fresh setback following a challenge.

“Nikola Milenković, he returned from an injury and played in the friendly, which was all good, but he injured his knee in a duel and he has a bruised bone,” Glasner explained.

“He will miss the game; it’s very painful, so he can’t train.”

Igor Jesus faces a longer absence after sustaining a calf muscle injury.

“He has a muscle injury in his calf and he will be out for a few weeks. That’s not what we wanted,” the Forest manager confirmed.

No specific return date has been established for either player.

Neco Williams doubtful through illness

Forest could also be without Williams, who initially returned from international duty in good condition.

The Wales international trained with his teammates before developing a fever overnight.

“He had a fever in the night and was not available today, but we will see how he recovers tomorrow,” Glasner said.

Despite those concerns, the Austrian manager reported that Forest's other international players returned fit.

Glasner acknowledged the demanding schedule but insisted that managing players' workloads after international fixtures is a challenge shared by every Premier League club.

Williams' availability will depend on how quickly he recovers ahead of the visit to Selhurst Park.
