Manchester City are considering a major move for Chelsea winger Pedro Neto, with reports in Portugal claiming the Premier League champions are prepared to offer around €82 million for the Portugal international.

According to Record, City's sporting department, led by Hugo Viana, have already begun exploratory talks as they look to satisfy a request from head coach Enzo Maresca, who previously worked with Neto at Chelsea.

The proposed offer would exceed the €60 million Chelsea paid Wolverhampton Wanderers to sign the winger in 2024.

Enzo Maresca keen on reunion

The report states that Maresca has identified Neto as one of his preferred attacking reinforcements after overseeing the winger during a successful spell together at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are not actively looking to sell, with new head coach Xabi Alonso reportedly viewing the 26-year-old as an important part of his squad.

However, the London club may need to generate funds after completing the €137 million signing of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa earlier this summer, potentially opening the door to negotiations if Manchester City submit a formal proposal.

Pedro Neto attracting interest across Europe

Manchester City are not the only club monitoring Neto's situation.

The report adds that AC Milan, managed by Ruben Amorim, also admire the Portuguese winger as they search for a replacement for Rafael Leão. Amorim is said to value Neto's pace, direct style and defensive work rate.

Meanwhile, agent Jorge Mendes has explored the possibility of a move to Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal.

That option is not currently appealing to the player, who is understood to want to remain in one of Europe's top leagues.

Chelsea future remains uncertain

Neto is under contract at Chelsea until 2031 and has publicly expressed his happiness at the club.

Since arriving from Wolves, he has made 103 appearances for the Blues, scoring 19 goals and providing 18 assists.

The Portugal international also enjoyed an impressive 2026 World Cup, starting all five of his country's matches and registering an assist for João Neves in Portugal's opening victory over DR Congo.

While Chelsea are reluctant to lose one of their key attacking players, Manchester City's growing interest could develop into one of the biggest transfer stories of the final weeks of the window.
