Nottingham Forest manager Oliver Glasner insists he retains the full support of owner Evangelos Marinakis despite the club's difficult Premier League start.

Forest sit 19th with six points from nine matches, having recorded just one victory this season.

Speaking to Sky Sport Austria ahead of Saturday's home match against Manchester City, Glasner acknowledged the frustration surrounding the club's results.

Glasner reveals Marinakis stance on Forest struggles

Glasner confirmed that Marinakis is disappointed with Forest's performances but remains committed to supporting him.

"He's obviously not happy with our start," the Austrian admitted.

However, Glasner explained that both men understood the challenges involved when he arrived during the summer.

"We discussed beforehand that things might get a little shaky, that it would be a rocky road. But I have his full support."

His comments follow Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Brentford, after which he criticised his team's recurring mistakes and promised changes.

Sky Sports News has also reported that Forest's hierarchy supports Glasner's determination to improve results.

Nottingham Forest statistics highlight major problem

Glasner believes Forest's underlying performances have been better than their league position suggests.

He claimed the team ranks second defensively and fifth offensively according to performance data.

"If you look at the data, we should be third," he said.

However, those rankings reflect Glasner's assessment rather than Forest's actual league standing.

The manager acknowledged that defensive errors and missed opportunities have repeatedly cost his side points.

Forest's only league victory came against Aston Villa in September, while they have yet to score at the City Ground in the Premier League this season.

Manchester City provide major test

Forest host Enzo Maresca's Manchester City on Saturday, seeking to end a five-match winless run.

Glasner highlighted Forest's 2-2 draw at Liverpool and narrow defeat against Arsenal as evidence that his players can compete with stronger opponents.

However, he stressed that improved efficiency will be essential.
