Former Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has reflected on his difficult spell at Stamford Bridge, describing the experience as both rewarding and challenging.
The 42-year-old, now managing Paris FC, spent less than four months in charge of Chelsea before his dismissal in April 2026.
In an interview with French magazine So Foot, Rosenior discussed the scrutiny he faced during his time in England.
Rosenior reflects on difficult Chelsea spell
Rosenior replaced Enzo Maresca in January 2026 after previously managing Strasbourg.
His appointment initially brought optimism, but Chelsea's results deteriorated and he was dismissed after 23 matches.
Despite the disappointment, Rosenior described the role as "the best experience of my life, and the hardest too."
The former Blues manager suggested there were aspects of his departure that he was not yet prepared to discuss.
However, he did not establish that circumstances beyond results were responsible for his dismissal.
Former Chelsea boss criticises media scrutiny
Rosenior also reflected on criticism of his appearance, communication style and touchline behaviour.
One incident attracted particular attention during Chelsea's Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in March.
With his side trailing heavily, Rosenior handed Alejandro Garnacho a note containing tactical instructions, prompting criticism from pundits and supporters.
"I'm not a joke!" Rosenior insisted.
The Englishman believes public discussion of managers can extend beyond their tactical decisions and results.
His comments highlight the pressure he experienced during his brief tenure at Stamford Bridge.
Rosenior rebuilding reputation at Paris FC
Following Rosenior's departure, Chelsea appointed Xabi Alonso as their new manager.
Rosenior returned to French football in July, taking charge of Paris FC after previously working at Strasbourg.
At his introductory press conference, he acknowledged making mistakes at Chelsea but said the experience had also provided valuable lessons.
His return to Ligue 1 offers an opportunity to apply those lessons in a different environment.
