Newcastle United face competition from other Premier League clubs for Valencia winger David Otorbi, with the teenager's agent confirming growing interest from England.
The 18-year-old impressed Newcastle scouts during Valencia's recent match against Racing Santander, scoring his first senior goal after coming off the bench.
Newcastle scouts impressed by Valencia youngster
According to reports in Spain, Newcastle sent two representatives to watch Otorbi against Racing Santander.
The winger made an immediate impression, with the scouts reportedly impressed by his technical ability, attacking confidence and willingness to challenge defenders.
Speaking to Spanish newspaper Marca, Otorbi's agent Nacho Gallart confirmed that several clubs have recently made enquiries.
“It's true that many clubs have called us, especially from the Premier League,” Gallart said.
However, the representative stressed that Otorbi remains committed to developing at Valencia.
Gallart explained that the teenager's immediate priorities are gaining first-team experience, improving his performances and helping the Spanish club.
The agent also emphasised that Otorbi's development should not be rushed.
Contract clause could complicate Newcastle transfer
Newcastle's interest comes at an important stage in Otorbi's development.
The winger signed a new Valencia contract in April, keeping him at the Mestalla until June 2028.
However, Gallart revealed that the agreement contains an automatic extension clause.
If Otorbi makes ten first-team appearances lasting at least 45 minutes each, his contract will automatically extend until 2031.
That provision could strengthen Valencia's negotiating position if Newcastle or another Premier League club decide to pursue a transfer.
Newcastle previously observed Otorbi during a pre-season meeting with Valencia in August, suggesting their interest has developed over several months.
Nevertheless, the player's representatives have made clear that a move abroad is not currently a priority.
No formal Newcastle bid has been confirmed, and Valencia remain focused on managing the teenager's progression into senior football.
