Leeds United set for Lucas Perri exit as Torino close in and James Trafford move nears

Leeds United are edging closer to a major shake-up in their goalkeeping department, with Torino closing in on a deal for Lucas Perri before the Whites move for James Trafford.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Torino are finalising the remaining details of an agreement for the Brazilian goalkeeper. Once the transfer is completed, Leeds are expected to accelerate negotiations with Manchester City for Trafford, who is understood to be keen on the switch to Elland Road.

The latest development follows Football Place's exclusive update on 18 July, when we revealed that Torino had intensified talks with Leeds over Perri's future.

Torino have made Lucas Perri their first-choice goalkeeper target throughout the summer and now appear on the verge of securing his signature.

Football Place reported earlier this month that the Serie A club had stepped up negotiations after identifying the Brazilian as the ideal addition between the posts.

According to Fabrizio Romano, only the final details remain before the transfer can be completed, bringing Torino's pursuit close to a successful conclusion.

On 18 July, Football Place reported that Torino had accelerated discussions with Leeds after Perri indicated he was keen to return to Serie A.

The Italian club initially proposed a loan deal with an option to buy, a structure designed to reduce the immediate financial impact while allowing them to assess the goalkeeper over the course of the season.

Leeds were understood to value the 28-year-old at around €10 million, while also delaying any decision until their own goalkeeping plans became clearer.

With Perri now expected to depart, Leeds are preparing to move quickly for Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford.

Romano reports that Trafford is keen on the move, with Leeds ready to push ahead once Perri's exit is confirmed.

The England goalkeeper has long been admired at Elland Road and is expected to become the club's priority target as Daniel Farke reshapes his squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

Perri joined Leeds from Lyon and showed encouraging form early in his spell at Elland Road before opportunities became limited during the second half of last season.
