Former Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna has emerged as a potential replacement for Álvaro Arbeloa at Fulham, with the Spaniard facing growing pressure after a winless start to the Premier League season.
McKenna, who left Ipswich during the summer, has also been linked with Tottenham amid uncertainty surrounding Roberto De Zerbi's future.
Fulham consider McKenna after difficult Arbeloa start
According to talkSPORT, McKenna is among the candidates being considered should Fulham decide to replace Arbeloa.
The former Real Madrid manager has endured a difficult opening six matches, leaving Fulham bottom of the Premier League with just two points.
Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Ipswich increased the pressure after late goals from Abdoul Ouattara and Dara O'Shea overturned Fulham's lead.
Arbeloa reportedly faces two crucial fixtures against newly promoted Coventry City and Hull City to convince the club's hierarchy he can reverse their fortunes.
Former Brentford and Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has also been linked with the position.
McKenna in no rush to return to management
McKenna previously attracted Fulham's interest during the summer but instead chose to leave Ipswich and take a break from management.
The Northern Irishman has since visited other clubs to observe training and matches, while also preparing to work as a UEFA technical observer.
His first assignment is scheduled to be Shakhtar Donetsk's meeting with AEK Athens at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking to The Guardian about his future, McKenna said: “I'm certainly in no rush.”
He explained that his next role must offer opportunities to develop players, implement attacking football and build a meaningful connection with a club.
A move to Fulham could also involve a significant financial commitment, with reports suggesting Ipswich would still be entitled to an £8million release clause if McKenna accepts another position this season.
No formal approach has been confirmed.
