Jadon Sancho suffers fresh transfer blow after Krasnodar reject move

Jadon Sancho's search for a new club has suffered another setback after Russian champions Krasnodar reportedly rejected the opportunity to sign the former Manchester United winger.

The 26-year-old remains a free agent after leaving United at the end of last season and is searching for a route back into professional football.

Despite Sancho reportedly being prepared to consider a move to Russia, Krasnodar decided against pursuing an agreement.

According to Foot Mercato, Sancho was offered to Krasnodar as his representatives continue searching for potential destinations.

However, the Russian club turned down the opportunity before negotiations developed into anything serious.

The discussions reportedly remained at an early stage, with the two sides never reaching detailed negotiations regarding salary or the length of a potential contract.

It represents another disappointment for a player who was once regarded as one of Europe's most valuable young attackers.

Manchester United paid around €70million to bring Sancho back to England from Borussia Dortmund in 2021, but his spell at Old Trafford failed to meet expectations.

He eventually left United without a transfer fee following several difficult seasons.

Sancho spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Aston Villa and made 39 appearances during a successful campaign for the club.

Villa qualified for the Champions League and lifted the Europa League, with Sancho featuring in the final.

Individually, however, his attacking numbers remained disappointing. The winger managed only one goal throughout the campaign, which has seemingly done little to improve his options since leaving Manchester United.

Krasnodar are not the first unusual destination to be linked with Sancho.

There were also reports of interest from Arabian Falcons, a third-division club in Dubai, with claims that contact had been made with the player's representatives. Again, no transfer followed.

Sancho therefore remains without a club and continues training individually while his representatives attempt to find the next destination for his career.

Sancho's representatives will have to continue exploring alternative markets after Krasnodar decided against pursuing a deal.

His free-agent status means Sancho does not need to wait for the January transfer window to join another club. However, finding a team prepared to offer him the opportunity to rebuild his career is becoming increasingly important the longer he remains outside professional football.
