Newcastle and Manchester United linked with Hugo Larsson as Frankfurt set transfer stance

Eintracht Frankfurt are remaining relaxed despite reported interest from Newcastle United and Manchester United in midfielder Hugo Larsson, with the Bundesliga club under no pressure to sanction a sale this summer.

According to Absolut Fußball, Frankfurt are aware of the growing Premier League attention surrounding the 22-year-old but are confident in their position thanks to Larsson's long-term contract and the player's willingness to remain in Germany.

The Sweden international is under contract until 2029 and does not have a release clause, leaving Frankfurt firmly in control of any potential negotiations.

Although Larsson endured a more inconsistent campaign last season, Frankfurt still regard him as one of the club's most valuable assets and have no intention of lowering their demands.

The report claims the midfielder is open to discussing a move should the right opportunity arise, but he is equally prepared to continue his development at Deutsche Bank Park.

Internally, Frankfurt have reportedly valued Larsson at around €60 million, although that figure is widely considered ambitious. Even so, the Bundesliga side are determined not to let one of their key young players leave below what they believe is his true market value.

Reports have suggested that clubs would need to offer at least €40 million before Frankfurt would even consider opening serious negotiations, although Absolut Fußball stops short of confirming that figure.

Newcastle's interest comes as Eddie Howe looks to reshape his midfield following Sandro Tonali's departure, while Manchester United are reportedly still searching for another central midfielder despite already strengthening the position this summer.

For both Premier League clubs, Larsson represents an attractive long-term option thanks to his age, technical ability and experience in the Bundesliga. However, his inconsistent form last season, coupled with Frankfurt's firm negotiating stance, means any move is likely to require a significant financial commitment.

Frankfurt are expected to continue monitoring interest in Larsson throughout the transfer window but are unlikely to enter negotiations unless a substantial offer is submitted. Newcastle and Manchester United may keep the midfielder on their shortlist, although both clubs will need to decide whether meeting Frankfurt's valuation represents value or whether alternative midfield targets become more realistic.
