Fulham have been linked with a January move for Sevilla defender Kike Salas, with the Spanish club reportedly valuing the 24-year-old at more than €30million.

According to Spanish outlet Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, manager Álvaro Arbeloa wants to strengthen his defence after a difficult start to the Premier League season.

However, Salas is reportedly reluctant to leave his boyhood club, presenting a potential obstacle to any approach from Fulham.

Fulham target defensive reinforcements

Arbeloa is reportedly seeking a physically strong, left-footed centre-back with leadership qualities as Fulham assess their options ahead of the January transfer window.

The Cottagers have already been linked with Salas this season, with Spanish reporting in September claiming that Fulham scouts watched him during Sevilla's 1-1 draw against Espanyol.

Arsenal were also reported to have monitored the defender, alongside Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoumé.

Vamos Mi Sevilla FC now reports that Salas remains a prominent candidate as Fulham consider further defensive investment.

However, there is no confirmation that the London club have submitted an official bid or opened negotiations with Sevilla.

Sevilla reportedly value Kike Salas above €30m

Salas progressed through Sevilla's academy before making his senior debut in September 2022.

The Spanish defender spent part of the 2022/23 season on loan at Tenerife before establishing himself in Sevilla's first-team squad.

He signed a contract extension in December 2024, committing his future to the club until June 2029.

Salas also has a reported €50million release clause, although Vamos Mi Sevilla FC suggests Sevilla could consider offers exceeding €30million.

That valuation would represent a significant investment for Fulham, particularly with the defender still under a long-term contract.

Salas reluctant to leave Sevilla

Despite the reported Premier League interest, Salas is said to prefer remaining at Sevilla.

The defender came through the club's youth system and has established himself as an important member of the senior squad.

Vamos Mi Sevilla FC reports that he has no immediate desire to leave, meaning Fulham would need to convince both the player and Sevilla before any transfer could progress.

There is currently no confirmed agreement, bid or indication that Salas has changed his position.
