Sunderland manager Régis Le Bris has provided an encouraging injury update ahead of Saturday's Premier League trip to Coventry City, with Wilson Isidor closing in on a return.
The French striker has resumed training after missing recent matches, although his involvement has not yet been confirmed.
Nordi Mukiele remains a fitness concern following an injury against Leeds United, while Dan Ballard and Romaine Mundle are unavailable. Kevin Danso, meanwhile, returns from suspension.
Wilson Isidor closing in on Sunderland return
Le Bris confirmed that Isidor has returned to training and could be involved against Coventry after recovering from the problem that has kept him out since the defeat to Brighton.
"Wilson should be available," Le Bris said.
The striker's potential return would provide another attacking option alongside Brian Brobbey as Sunderland look to improve their Premier League results.
Le Bris suggested that the overall fitness situation has improved, although some players are still managing minor problems.
"All our players are more or less available," he added.
"We have to manage minor injuries, so it's a question of three days, four days, depending on the players."
Isidor's recovery is particularly encouraging after the forward missed Wednesday's 3-2 Carabao Cup victory over Brentford.
Nordi Mukiele remains a doubt for Coventry clash
Mukiele faces a late fitness assessment after suffering an injury to his throat during Sunday's goalless draw with Leeds United.
The defender was accidentally caught by teammate Luke O'Nien as the pair attempted to deal with a long ball.
Mukiele subsequently left the pitch, with Omar Alderete replacing him.
Le Bris indicated that the injury was not serious but stopped short of confirming the defender's availability.
"It's a minor and short-term injury, but we'll see for Saturday," he explained.
Meanwhile, Ballard remains sidelined with a thigh injury, while Mundle continues his recovery from a knee problem.
Neither is expected to feature against Coventry.
Danso and Meunier boost Sunderland defensive options
Kevin Danso is available again after serving a one-match suspension during the draw with Leeds.
Sunderland have also welcomed Thomas Meunier back into action following a hamstring injury.
The Belgian defender returned from the bench during Wednesday's Carabao Cup victory over Brentford, giving Le Bris another option ahead of the trip to Coventry.
Habib Diarra is also expected to be available despite being substituted at half-time on Wednesday.
Le Bris indicated that the midfielder's withdrawal was planned as Sunderland continue managing his workload following a hamstring problem.
With several players returning, the manager has greater flexibility in selecting his side for Saturday's match.
