Brøndby captain Luis Binks has responded to reports linking him with Everton, admitting he is pleased by the interest but insisting his immediate priority remains the Danish club.

The 25-year-old centre-back has attracted attention from several European leagues following his impressive performances in Denmark and recent Scotland international debut.

Everton are reportedly among his admirers, although Binks says he has received no indication that a concrete move is being prepared.

Luis Binks addresses Everton transfer links

According to Danish outlet Campo, Everton have shown interest in Binks, with clubs from the Bundesliga, Serie A and elsewhere in the Premier League also monitoring him.

Speaking to Tipsbladet, the former Coventry City defender welcomed the speculation without suggesting a transfer was imminent.

“I haven’t heard any more than you (the press) have, I think. Of course, that’s good for me, they’re great clubs.”

Binks added that the attention reflects his progress, while acknowledging his ambition to compete at the highest possible level.

However, he stressed that his representatives would only contact him if genuine negotiations developed.

“They [agents] will only tell me if there’s something concrete. Right now, they’re not saying anything because it’s only October.”

Everton monitoring former Coventry defender

Binks began his career in Tottenham's academy before spells with Montreal Impact, Bologna, Como and Coventry City.

He joined Brøndby permanently after his time at Coventry and has since established himself as captain.

The defender recorded three goals and two assists across 33 appearances in his debut Danish league campaign. He has added one goal and two assists in nine matches this season.

His form also earned him a Scotland debut during the latest international break.

Binks remains under contract until 2030, giving Brøndby a strong negotiating position should Everton pursue a deal.

Despite his long-term ambitions, he insists his focus is firmly on his current club.

“But right now I’m at Brøndby; I’m happy here; I’m the captain; I want to help take the club as far as I can.”
