Endrick loan option opens for Aston Villa as Real Madrid weigh exit

Aston Villa have emerged as one of the clubs exploring a loan move for Real Madrid forward Endrick, with the Brazilian increasingly likely to spend another season away from the Santiago Bernabéu in search of regular first-team football.

According to reports in Spain, Villa have already made contact with the 20-year-old's representatives, while Roma are also assessing a deal. Endrick is understood to be considering his options as Real Madrid reshape their attacking department ahead of the new campaign.

A temporary departure is viewed as the most realistic outcome, with both the player and Madrid recognising the importance of consistent playing time following his successful loan spell at Lyon during the second half of last season.

Endrick's priority is clear. If he leaves Madrid, he wants to join a club competing in European football, ideally the Champions League, while also becoming the first-choice centre-forward.

Those requirements reportedly place Aston Villa among the strongest candidates. Unai Emery can offer European competition and the opportunity to lead the line, something that has become increasingly difficult for Endrick to achieve at Real Madrid.

José Mourinho, now in charge at the Spanish giants, reportedly views the Brazilian primarily as a central striker rather than a wide attacker. However, with Kylian Mbappé established as Madrid's leading forward and summer signing Carlos Espí arriving to strengthen the position, Endrick has slipped further down the pecking order.

His prospects on the right flank are equally limited, with Madrid already boasting several established options in those positions, while Rodrygo is expected to return from injury later in the season.

Madrid's long-term commitment to Endrick remains unchanged despite the current competition for places.

The Spanish club invested heavily to bring him from Palmeiras, agreeing an initial €35 million transfer alongside performance-related bonuses worth up to €25 million. Once wages, commissions and additional payments are included, reports suggest the overall investment approaches €80 million.

With that in mind, Madrid are keen to protect the value of one of their biggest young assets rather than limit his development through sporadic appearances.

One factor that could significantly improve Villa's chances is Madrid's willingness to subsidise part of Endrick's salary during a loan spell. The Brazilian reportedly earns more than €5 million net per season, making financial assistance an important element in any agreement.

Roma remain firmly in the race and have also presented their project to the player. The final decision is expected to rest with Endrick, who is currently assessing which destination offers the strongest combination of regular football, European competition and long-term development.

For Aston Villa, the opportunity appears well aligned with their recruitment strategy under Unai Emery. Adding one of South America's most highly-rated young forwards on loan would strengthen Villa's attacking options without requiring a major permanent transfer fee.

However, discussions are still at an early stage and no agreement has yet been reached.

Endrick is expected to continue evaluating proposals over the coming days before making a decision on his preferred destination. Real Madrid are open to sanctioning a loan once the player identifies the project that best suits his development, with Aston Villa and Roma currently among the leading contenders. Any move will also require agreement over salary contributions and the final structure of the loan deal.
