Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy believes Arsenal's Premier League title rivals have reason to worry after Mikel Arteta's side extended their lead to six points.

The Gunners secured a 1-0 victory over Hull City on Saturday through Martin Ødegaard's second-half winner, taking their tally to 27 points from ten matches.

Manchester City's 3-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest further strengthened Arsenal's position at the top.

Danny Murphy issues warning to Arsenal's title rivals

Speaking on BBC's Match of the Day, Murphy highlighted Arsenal's ability to win matches without consistently performing at their highest level.

"I think what's worrying for everyone else is they've got this amount of wins, this amount of points, and they haven't really played that well," he explained.

Arsenal struggled to break down Hull's defence before Ødegaard scored in the 72nd minute, reacting quickest after goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis saved Noni Madueke's effort.

Murphy believes Arteta's side still have significant room for improvement.

"There's more to come from this team, make no qualms about that," Murphy added.

Arsenal strengthen Premier League title position

Arsenal have won nine of their opening ten league fixtures, equalling their best points return at this stage of a Premier League campaign.

They have also kept seven clean sheets, demonstrating the defensive consistency behind their impressive start.

Meanwhile, Manchester City suffered a third consecutive league defeat as Liam Delap scored twice for Nottingham Forest.

The result leaves Arsenal six points clear heading into the November international break.

Murphy believes Arsenal's early-season results provide strong evidence of their title credentials.

"These numbers here, 27 points after ten games, that club normally wins the title," he said.

Although the title race remains open, Arsenal's ability to secure narrow victories has given them a valuable advantage over their challengers.
