Former Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones has revealed how Inter Milan's passionate supporters helped convince him to leave Anfield after 16 years.

The 25-year-old joined the Italian club in August and believes the connection between Inter's players and fans resembles the atmosphere he experienced at Liverpool.

Jones compares Inter supporters with Liverpool fans

Speaking to DAZN, in comments reported by FCInter1908, Jones recalled facing Inter during his Liverpool career.

"I immediately noticed the connection between the players and the fans," Jones said.

"Liverpool and I have always had this kind of special bond with the fans, our twelfth man on the pitch."

The England midfielder recognised a similar relationship at San Siro, which influenced his decision to move to Italy.

"So it was an easy choice," Jones explained.

Former Liverpool midfielder targets Inter success

Jones joined Liverpool's academy at the age of nine and progressed to make 228 senior appearances, scoring 22 goals.

He won six major trophies, including two Premier League titles, two League Cups and the FA Cup, before completing his permanent move to Inter.

However, his first months in Italy have been disrupted by an adductor injury, limiting his opportunities to establish himself in the starting XI.

Jones believes his value to the team extends beyond goals and assists.

"I want to help the team and show the best version of myself," he said.

Inter have started the Serie A season strongly, sitting top of the table after seven matches.
