Bournemouth learn Inter Milan terms for Luis Henrique January deal

Bournemouth’s January transfer plans are beginning to take shape, and the club have now been informed of the conditions required to finalise a deal for Inter Milan wing-back Luis Henrique.

The Brazilian, who joined Inter from Marseille in the summer, has endured a difficult first half of the season in Serie A. Despite opportunities opening up in the absence of Denzel Dumfries, Henrique has struggled to establish himself and is now emerging as a potential outbound option as Inter reassess their squad balance.

According to Italian reports, Bournemouth have already tested the waters with an approach for the 24-year-old, signalling their willingness to push beyond a temporary solution. However, Inter have drawn a clear line on the structure of any January agreement.

Inter are only prepared to sanction either a permanent transfer or a loan that includes a mandatory purchase clause. A simple loan or option-to-buy model has been ruled out, with the Italian club keen to protect the €25m investment made when Henrique arrived from Marseille last summer.

That valuation remains central to negotiations. Inter are seeking a fee in the region of €25m, effectively recouping their outlay, and are unwilling to compromise at this stage of the window.

Bournemouth’s initial proposal reportedly involved a permanent deal, placing them ahead of rival interest from Turkey. However, that offer has not yet met Inter’s expectations, leaving discussions open but unresolved.

Besiktas have also explored a January move for Henrique but encountered the same resistance, having proposed a loan with an option to buy. That structure failed to meet Inter’s criteria, mirroring the obstacles Bournemouth are currently navigating.

The Premier League club are not new admirers. Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest both tracked Henrique during the summer window, though neither side was able to reach an agreement at the time.

Henrique himself is not actively pushing for an exit and remains settled in Milan for now. That position, however, could shift quickly if Inter’s squad plans change.

A key variable in the situation is Inter’s interest in bringing Ivan Perisic back to the San Siro. Should the Croatian’s return materialise, Henrique’s pathway to minutes would narrow further, increasing the likelihood of a sale.

In that scenario, Bournemouth would be well placed. Their willingness to discuss a permanent structure aligns closely with Inter’s demands, provided a compromise can be found on valuation or payment terms.

Much will depend on how Inter’s own transfer priorities develop over the coming weeks, but Bournemouth now have clarity on what is required to keep talks alive.

Bournemouth are expected to assess whether they can stretch to Inter’s preferred structure as the January window progresses. Inter, meanwhile, will focus on their own recruitment plans, particularly the feasibility of re-signing Ivan Perisic. If that move advances, Henrique’s status is likely to shift from peripheral squad member to sellable asset, potentially opening the door for renewed negotiations before the window closes.
