Crystal Palace join Juventus in race for Corinthians star André

Crystal Palace have stepped up their interest in Corinthians midfielder André after sending a scout to watch the Brazilian youngster in action, joining Juventus in the race for one of South America's most highly-rated prospects.

According to ESPN Brazil, a Palace representative was present at the Neo Química Arena on Thursday as Corinthians defeated Remo 3-0, with André producing an impressive display that included an assist for Yuri Alberto's opening goal.

Crystal Palace's interest appears to be progressing beyond routine scouting.

Although the Premier League club have yet to submit an official offer, sending a representative to watch André in person suggests Palace are seriously evaluating whether to make a move during the summer transfer window.

The Eagles are understood to be assessing midfield reinforcements as they prepare for the new Premier League campaign.

Palace are not alone in pursuing the 20-year-old.

Juventus have already opened initial talks over a potential transfer, according to reports from Brazil, with the Serie A giants weighing up a formal bid.

The Italian club are also considering Bayern Munich midfielder João Palhinha, but André remains firmly on their shortlist as they look to strengthen their midfield.

Corinthians have already established the financial terms required to complete a deal.

The Brazilian club are reportedly seeking €18 million guaranteed, plus a further €4 million in performance-related bonuses, for 80% of André's economic rights.

The structure of the deal is slightly unusual.

André currently owns 30% of his own economic rights, while Corinthians control the remaining 70%. As part of any transfer, the midfielder would reportedly transfer 10% back to Corinthians while retaining the remaining 20%.

Corinthians remain in a strong negotiating position.

The midfielder is under contract until December 2029 and has a reported €100 million release clause, meaning the club are under no immediate pressure to sanction a sale.

FootballPlace understands Corinthians would prefer to keep André unless their valuation is met, particularly after previously blocking a move to AC Milan earlier this year despite advanced negotiations.

With Palace now joining Juventus in monitoring the midfielder, competition for André's signature is expected to intensify before the transfer window closes.

Crystal Palace are expected to continue monitoring André before deciding whether to submit a formal offer, while Juventus remain in contact over a possible deal. Corinthians are unlikely to enter negotiations unless a club comes close to meeting their €18 million valuation plus bonuses.
