Manchester City target Allan as Savinho nears Tottenham move

Manchester City have reportedly identified Palmeiras winger Allan as a potential replacement for Savinho, with the Brazilian's expected transfer to Tottenham prompting City to advance their plans.

Journalist Santi Aouna and David Ornstein reports that City have already made progress towards recruiting the 22-year-old and could accelerate their move once Savinho's departure is completed.

City's interest comes with Savinho now expected to leave for Tottenham, potentially as part of a remarkable double raid that could also see Omar Marmoush head to north London.

Rather than waiting for Savinho's transfer to be formally completed before considering alternatives, Manchester City are said to have been working behind the scenes on Allan.

The indication from Aouna is that the Premier League club have already “moved forward” with their plans for the Palmeiras player.

A deal could then gather pace once Savinho leaves the Etihad Stadium.

Allan would continue City's preference for recruiting technically gifted young players with significant development potential, although the supplied reporting does not yet provide details of a transfer fee or agreement with Palmeiras.

City are far from the first English club to show an interest in Allan.
