Crystal Palace could return with new Alieu Njie bid

Crystal Palace could reportedly return with a new offer for Torino attacker Alieu Njie as the Serie A club push for a permanent transfer.

The Eagles are competing with Salzburg for the 21-year-old and have already proposed a package potentially worth €18million, but the structure of their offer has failed to convince Torino.

According to TuttoSport, another Palace bid is “not ruled out”, leaving the Premier League club with an opportunity to move ahead in the race.

Palace's existing proposal includes a €2m loan fee, an €8m conditional obligation to buy and another €8m in bonuses.

While the overall package could reach Torino's valuation, the Italian club would prefer to sell Njie permanently rather than accept a deal dependent on future conditions.

Torino are reportedly looking for between €16m and €18m for the Sweden international.

That means Palace may need to restructure their proposal rather than simply increase its headline value.

Njie's absence from Torino's squad for Saturday's Coppa Italia fixture against Carrarese has also attracted attention.

The official explanation was muscle fatigue, although TuttoSport believes his omission could be connected to his uncertain transfer situation after he trained earlier in the week.

Salzburg remain firmly involved and already have an agreement with Njie over a five-year contract.

Their proposal to Torino, however, has only reached €11m plus €2m in bonuses, alongside a potential sell-on percentage.

That remains below Torino's demands and gives Palace an opportunity to strengthen their position.

The Eagles have already put forward the higher overall package, but Torino's preference for a permanent sale means the structure of any renewed bid could prove decisive.

Palace must now decide whether to return with a permanent offer that better matches Torino's demands.

Salzburg remain serious competition because of their agreement with Njie, but their current bid falls short financially. A revised structure from Palace could therefore become decisive as negotiations continue.
