Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly made a €14 million offer for Olympiacos winger André Luiz as César Peixoto looks to strengthen his attacking options.
Wolves have already added Raúl Jiménez and Kieran Trippier on free transfers, but wide areas remain a clear priority. Enso González is currently the only recognised left winger in the squad, while the Championship side also lack a natural option on the right.
According to Greek outlet Sportime, Wolves have now made a concrete move for Luiz, but Olympiacos believe the offer is too low.
Wolves submit €14m André Luiz transfer offer
Wolves were previously linked with a mysterious €16 million bid rejected by Olympiacos earlier this month, but the latest report claims that proposal did not come from the Molineux club.
Their interest is serious, however, and a separate €14 million offer has now been submitted.
Olympiacos owner Evangelos Marinakis reportedly believes the bid does not reflect Luiz's value, meaning Wolves will need to make an extra financial effort to complete the transfer.
The 24-year-old is under contract until 2030, leaving the Greek club in a strong negotiating position.
Luiz enjoyed an impressive spell with Rio Ave last season, recording seven goals and six assists in 20 matches before moving to Olympiacos.
His impact in Greece has been more limited so far, with one assist in 10 appearances and only 379 minutes of football.
Why Wolves want another winger
Peixoto has plenty of options at centre-forward following Jiménez's arrival and Saša Kalajdžić's return from his loan spell at LASK.
That leaves Wolves more focused on adding quality in wide areas.
Luiz primarily operates from the right and would provide a natural option in a position where the squad currently lacks depth. His previous productivity in Portugal also shows why Wolves are prepared to make a significant investment despite his limited minutes at Olympiacos.
