Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Sandro Tonali has declared that he will remain an AC Milan supporter for life, despite leaving the Italian giants more than three years ago.

The Italy international joined Spurs from Newcastle United in a club-record £100million deal in July, but his affection for Milan remains unchanged.

Speaking to Calciomercato, Tonali explained why his connection with the Rossoneri extends beyond his playing career.

Tonali declares lifelong loyalty to AC Milan

"Do I follow Milan? Yes, always," the Tottenham midfielder said.

"That's something that will remain true even twenty years from now."

Tonali admitted he no longer has the same personal connections within Milan's dressing room because many former teammates have moved on.

However, his support for the club remains unwavering.

"I believe a fan can never change their faith. And that will be the case for the rest of my life," he added.

His comments underline the importance of Milan in his career, although they do not indicate that a return is being negotiated.

Tottenham midfielder reflects on successful Milan spell

Tonali joined Milan from Brescia in 2020, initially on loan, before completing a permanent move.

He made 130 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing 13 assists across three seasons.

The midfielder helped Milan win their first Serie A title in 11 years in 2021-22 and reach the Champions League semi-finals the following season.

He subsequently moved to Newcastle in 2023, winning the Carabao Cup in 2025 before joining Tottenham under Roberto De Zerbi.

Could Tonali return to Milan?

A future reunion remains possible, but there is no evidence of active negotiations.

Tottenham reportedly paid £92.5million plus £7.5million in potential add-ons for Tonali, while his wages are understood to exceed £275,000 per week.

Those financial commitments would complicate any immediate return to San Siro.
