Tottenham could receive a double injury boost ahead of their Carabao Cup trip to Liverpool, with Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie potentially returning.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side were without both full-backs for the goalless draw against Everton, which extended Spurs’ winless and goalless start to the Premier League season.
James Maddison was at least able to make his return, while several other Tottenham players remain sidelined.
Pedro Porro
Porro missed the Everton game after suffering what De Zerbi described as a “small muscular problem”.
Spurs did not want to take any risks with the Spaniard, particularly after his involvement in Spain’s run to World Cup glory during the summer.
De Zerbi admitted Porro’s workload will need careful management during the opening months of the campaign.
His injury does not currently appear serious, meaning the right-back could return against Liverpool.
Potential return date: September 15 vs Liverpool (A)
Destiny Udogie
Udogie was also unavailable against Everton, although his absence appears to be primarily related to fitness management.
The Italian played 60 minutes against Nottingham Forest, but his injury problems last season mean Tottenham are taking a cautious approach.
Like Porro, he could potentially return for the Carabao Cup clash at Anfield.
Potential return date: September 15 vs Liverpool (A)
Mykhailo Mudryk
Mudryk faces a significantly longer spell on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury in training.
The winger is expected to miss between six and eight weeks. De Zerbi described the incident as a “stupid injury” given its innocuous nature.
Mudryk had only recently returned to competitive football and made a promising cameo against Nottingham Forest before suffering the setback.
Potential return date: October 19 vs Coventry (H)
Dejan Kulusevski
Kulusevski’s long-awaited comeback has suffered another minor setback.
The Sweden international returned to full Tottenham training after being sidelined since May 2025 with a serious patella injury.
However, after briefly rejoining the group, Kulusevski was forced to stop training because of a fresh issue.
De Zerbi stressed that it is “not a big problem” and described the setback as normal for a player returning from such a lengthy absence.
Potential return date: Unknown
Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert
Tottenham face lengthy waits for both Simons and Odobert following ACL injuries.
De Zerbi has suggested Simons will not be available before March or April, while Odobert could potentially return slightly earlier.
Simons potential return date: April 2027
Odobert potential return date: March 2027
