Tottenham join Iliman Ndiaye race as Richarlison swap idea emerges

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined the race for Everton star Iliman Ndiaye, with Richarlison potentially being included in an ambitious late transfer proposal.

Ndiaye is attracting significant interest ahead of the deadline, with Manchester City already progressing in talks and Tottenham now considering whether they can enter the battle for the 26-year-old.

According to Foot Mercato, Spurs are exploring ways to convince Everton despite David Moyes publicly insisting the Toffees are in no hurry to sell their best players.

Tottenham have already transformed their attacking options this week by signing Savio and Omar Marmoush, but Roberto De Zerbi's side may not be finished.

Monaco striker Folarin Balogun is another player under consideration, while Ndiaye has now emerged as a potential target.

One possibility reportedly being considered is including former Everton forward Richarlison in a deal for the Senegal international.

The Brazilian remains popular on Merseyside following his previous spell with Everton, but injuries have disrupted his Tottenham career.

A return would also raise questions over his role in Moyes' squad.

Thierno Barry has started the new season in outstanding form, scoring four goals in his opening two matches, meaning Richarlison would potentially arrive as competition or cover rather than an automatic starter.

That situation could change if Beto departs, with the striker attracting interest from Italy.

Convincing Everton represents Tottenham's biggest challenge.

Moyes has already stated that Everton have received no approach for Ndiaye and stressed that the club are “not in a hurry” to sell their leading players.

However, Foot Mercato reports that Ndiaye has rejected several contract renewal proposals this summer.

The financial numbers could also become difficult for Everton to ignore if the reported interest produces a major offer.

Ndiaye joined Everton for around €18million two years ago, while a potential deal worth more than €80m would represent an enormous profit.

Tottenham would also need to move quickly because Manchester City are reportedly further ahead in their pursuit.

City are progressing in talks and have no intention of stepping aside simply because Spurs have entered the picture.

That leaves Tottenham needing to determine whether including Richarlison can make their proposal more attractive to Everton or whether a substantial cash offer would still be required.

With the deadline approaching, there is little time for De Zerbi's side to make their move.

Tottenham must decide whether to formalise their interest and present Everton with a proposal strong enough to change their position.
