Torino have stepped up their pursuit of Leeds United goalkeeper Lucas Perri, with sporting director Gianluca Petrachi strongly hinting that the Brazilian remains one of the club's priority targets.
Perri endured a mixed first season at Elland Road after joining from Lyon in a deal worth around €15 million last summer. Now, with his place under Daniel Farke far from guaranteed, a move to Serie A is gathering momentum.
Torino director hints at Lucas Perri move
Speaking to Sky Italia, Petrachi refused to confirm Perri by name but admitted Torino are working on signing a goalkeeper who is eager to join the club.
“We already have clear ideas. We know what we want to do,” Petrachi said.
“There’s a goalkeeper who wants to join us; they made him another offer, but he wants to join us.”
When asked directly if he was referring to Leeds goalkeeper Perri, Petrachi avoided giving a definitive answer.
“I won’t name names. There are two or three players who have been closely watched. We’re definitely moving forward with the idea of bringing in a strong goalkeeper.”
His comments add further weight to reports linking Torino with the Brazilian.
Leeds asking price remains major obstacle
Perri made 20 appearances in all competitions during his first season at Leeds, keeping four clean sheets.
However, he lost his place to Karl Darlow in the Premier League and featured only six times in 2026, with four of those appearances coming in the FA Cup.
Torino believe the 28-year-old could strengthen their squad, but negotiations have been complicated by Leeds' valuation.
Recent reports in Italy described Perri as Torino's "dream" target, although the Premier League club's asking price has made a deal difficult to complete.
Perri remains under contract at Elland Road until 2029.
Talks expected to continue next week
According to reports in Italy, Torino remain in negotiations with Leeds and discussions are expected to continue next week.
There is optimism that progress could be made as the Italian club continue working behind the scenes.
With Perri reportedly keen on the move, the biggest challenge now appears to be finding an agreement between the two clubs.
If Leeds soften their demands, Torino could accelerate their efforts to bring the Brazilian back to European football outside England.
