Sevilla open talks as Vlachodimos willing to push for Newcastle exit

Sevilla have stepped up their efforts to keep Odysseas Vlachodimos beyond this season, with fresh reports from Spain claiming the goalkeeper is actively willing to help facilitate a permanent move away from Newcastle United.

According to Estadio Deportivo, “conversations have already taken place” between Sevilla and the Greek international as the La Liga side explore the possibility of converting his loan into a full transfer.

Sevilla’s sporting director Antonio Cordón is said to be laying the groundwork to retain two loan players: Vlachodimos and Batista Mendy. Of the two, the Newcastle goalkeeper is viewed as the more complex operation.

Vlachodimos has been one of Sevilla’s standout performers this season, and his form has not gone unnoticed. Estadio Deportivo report that his consistency has attracted interest from multiple clubs, increasing the likelihood that Newcastle United will attempt to maximise his value through a sale.
