Richarlison has been left out of Tottenham Hotspur's Premier League squad by Roberto De Zerbi as the Brazilian pushes to secure a late move to Trabzonspor.

The striker's future has dominated the closing stages of Tottenham's summer window after a proposed return to Everton collapsed. With the English transfer deadline now passed, Turkey represents one of Richarlison's remaining opportunities to leave before January.

Trabzonspor have already had an opening proposal rejected, with Tottenham reportedly valuing the 29-year-old at around £35million.

De Zerbi leaves Richarlison out

According to the Daily Mail, De Zerbi has excluded Richarlison from his Premier League squad after becoming frustrated with the striker's repeated attempts to leave.

The Tottenham manager had already revealed that Richarlison asked “too many times” for a transfer.

His position has become even more difficult following the arrival of Omar Marmoush on loan from Manchester City, strengthening De Zerbi's attacking options while Richarlison remains outside his plans.

Richarlison has one year remaining on his Tottenham contract, although the club hold an option to extend it for another 12 months.

Trabzonspor could rescue Richarlison

Trabzonspor now have until Friday to find an agreement with Tottenham.

The Turkish club have already failed with one bid but remain interested, while Richarlison is reportedly attracted by the opportunity to join them and link up with former Liverpool stars Mohamed Salah and Fabinho.

His proposed Everton return had appeared to provide another solution before collapsing.

Richarlison subsequently published a defiant message on Instagram, insisting he would take control of his own future following difficult experiences in recent years.

“Never again will anyone decide my future for me,” he wrote, also referring to “pressure, threats” and “retaliation”.

That leaves Tottenham and Trabzonspor facing a race against time. If the Turkish club cannot meet Spurs' demands before their deadline, Richarlison could find himself without Premier League football until at least January.

For a player determined to dictate his next move, the coming days could now determine whether he gets that opportunity immediately or has to wait several months.

Key Points

  • Roberto De Zerbi has left Richarlison out of Tottenham's Premier League squad.
  • Trabzonspor have already had an opening offer rejected by Spurs.
  • Tottenham reportedly value the Brazilian at around £35m.
  • Richarlison's proposed return to Everton collapsed before the English deadline.
  • Turkey's later deadline gives Trabzonspor an opportunity to complete a deal before Friday.

What’s Next?

Trabzonspor must improve their proposal quickly if they are to rescue Richarlison from his Tottenham exile.

Failure to reach an agreement would leave the striker in an extremely difficult position, with no place in De Zerbi's registered Premier League squad and January representing his next obvious opportunity to leave.
