Manchester City youngster Vitor Reis has revealed he is helping new signing Allan Elias adapt to life in England following their reunion at the Etihad.

The Brazilian pair both developed in Palmeiras' academy before earning expensive moves to City. Allan completed his switch on August 31 for an initial €37.5million (£32.4m), with achievable bonuses potentially taking the package to €40m (£34.6m).

Having already experienced the transition from Brazil to Manchester himself, Reis is now helping his former Palmeiras teammate through the same process.

Reis helping Allan settle at Man City

Speaking to ESPN Brazil, Reis explained his pride at seeing two Palmeiras academy graduates together at City.

“It's really nice to have two players who came from Palmeiras here at Manchester City,” Reis said. “It shows the strength of the work done in the academy and the quality of the players who are coming through.”

The defender is also taking a personal role in Allan's adaptation.

“I'm trying to help Allan at the beginning, especially with some aspects of adapting, so he can feel more and more comfortable.”

Reis joined City from Palmeiras for around €37m in January 2025 before spending last season on loan at Girona.

That experience means the centre-back understands the challenges Allan now faces, from adjusting to a new country and language to competing for opportunities within one of Europe's most expensive squads.

Allan could make immediate City squad

City appear keen to integrate Allan quickly.

ESPN Brazil report that the 22-year-old has already been training with the first team and could be included in Enzo Maresca's squad to face Coventry City.

That would provide an early indication that City intend to assess Allan within their senior setup rather than immediately following the loan pathway Reis experienced.

Reis himself is still competing to establish a regular role following his return from Girona. His only appearance across City's opening three competitive fixtures came as a late substitute in the 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace.

For now, the two former Palmeiras prospects are at different stages of the same challenge. Reis has already experienced the adjustment period – and Allan now has a familiar face ensuring he does not have to navigate it alone.
