Raheem Sterling is open to a move to Serie A this summer as the former England regular looks to rebuild his form ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Multiple Italian clubs, including AC Milan and Juventus, are tracking the 30-year-old as he prepares to leave Chelsea after a disappointing spell at both Stamford Bridge and Arsenal.

Sterling Set to Leave Chelsea – But Where Next?

Chelsea are open to selling Sterling this summer to fund new signings. After just one goal in 28 appearances on loan at Arsenal, Sterling is not part of Mikel Arteta’s plans.

Despite his struggles, Sterling remains one of the Premier League’s all-time standout wingers, having scored 131 goals in 339 matches for Manchester City. He also won four league titles and remains England’s third-highest Champions League scorer.

Now, he’s seeking a fresh start — and Serie A could be the right fit.

Why AC Milan and Juventus Are Watching

Sterling’s name has been discussed internally at both Milan and Juve.

  • AC Milan may lose Rafael Leão this summer, creating a gap on the left wing.
  • Juventus are actively trying to move on Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula.
  • Milan have already signed Luka Modrić and opened talks for Javi Guerra.
  • Tuchel’s connection to Sterling could prove key if the German returns to club management in Italy.
  • “Sterling still has big moments left in him. A move to Serie A may be what’s needed to reignite his career,” said a close source to the player.

There’s also been interest from Saudi Arabia and MLS, but Sterling is prioritising a return to top-level European football to push for an England comeback.

Sterling's England Ambition: One Last World Cup?

Sterling has not featured for England since the 2022 World Cup, where the Three Lions exited in the quarter-finals. He’s determined to change that in the final stretch of his career.

    • 🦁 Caps: 82
    • Goals: 20
    • 📆 Last appearance: December 2022
    • 🏆 Standout tournament: Euro 2021 (goals vs Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany)

Under new manager Thomas Tuchel, England’s system could favour Sterling’s style if he finds form.

    Analyst Verdict

A move to Serie A could extend Sterling’s career at the top level. His tactical discipline and off-the-ball intelligence would fit a slower, more technical league. He needs regular football — and quickly — if he’s to make Gareth Southgate (or Tuchel’s) final squad in 2026.

What happened to Sterling? He’s only 30 and that’s not old if you compare it with Salah. This guy was amazing in 2018 I think when he was at city
