PSV eye Everton’s Adam Aznou as Wolves defender Hugo Bueno also emerges

PSV Eindhoven have identified Everton youngster Adam Aznou as one of their leading targets as they search for a new left-back this summer, while Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Hugo Bueno has also been offered to the Eredivisie champions.

According to reports in the Netherlands, PSV are assessing several options before making a decision, with both Premier League defenders under consideration as the club looks to strengthen its back line ahead of the new campaign.

Dutch outlet Eindhovens Dagblad, via Voetbal Primeur, reports that Aznou is currently high on PSV's shortlist. The 20-year-old was previously considered by the Dutch club and has re-emerged as a candidate after a frustrating first season at Everton following his move from Bayern Munich.

Aznou struggled for regular opportunities under David Moyes, leaving his immediate future uncertain despite arriving as one of Europe's more highly rated young full-backs.

A move to PSV could offer the game time needed to accelerate his development, and there is already a successful blueprint for such a deal. Jarrad Branthwaite enjoyed a productive loan spell in Eindhoven before returning to Everton to establish himself as a first-team regular, showing how beneficial the pathway can be for young players.

While PSV technical director Earnest Stewart is still evaluating multiple candidates, Aznou remains firmly in contention if the Dutch club decide to pursue a move.

Wolves defender Hugo Bueno is another player being monitored by PSV as they weigh up their options at left-back.

The Spaniard, who remains under contract until 2028, is reportedly valued at around €12 million after returning from his loan spell at Feyenoord. Unlike Aznou, who could potentially become available through a temporary deal, Bueno would likely require a permanent transfer.

PSV are expected to have funds available following the departures of Ismael Saibari, Armando Obispo and Adamo Nagalo, with defensive reinforcements a priority this summer. However, it remains unclear whether the Eredivisie side are prepared to meet Wolves' valuation or if they will instead explore more affordable alternatives.
