Barcelona are reportedly monitoring Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro amid claims the Spain international is considering a return to La Liga despite recently signing a contract until 2031.

The 27-year-old remains an important player for Roberto De Zerbi, but Tottenham's difficult start to the Premier League season has raised questions about his long-term future.

Pedro Porro reportedly considering Tottenham exit

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Porro is increasingly uncertain about his future at Tottenham and is seriously considering returning to Spain.

Both Barcelona and Real Madrid have reportedly made preliminary enquiries about the defender's situation.

Porro joined Spurs from Sporting in January 2023 and has since established himself as a regular starter.

His performances also earned him a return to the Spain national team in 2024, and he was part of the squad that won the 2026 World Cup.

Tottenham extended his contract until 2031 during the summer at De Zerbi's request, making a potential departure more complicated.

Porro recently missed international duty through injury and was absent from Tottenham's 1-1 draw against Manchester United.

Barcelona face major obstacles to Porro transfer

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick reportedly considers Porro a suitable option for his tactical system.

However, the Spanish champions are unlikely to invest heavily in another full-back without first selling an existing player.

Jules Koundé and Alejandro Balde have been identified as possible departures that could create space or generate funds for a transfer.

Even then, Barcelona would need to negotiate with Tottenham, who hold a strong position because Porro's contract contains no release clause.

Spurs are under no immediate financial pressure to sell and would reportedly demand a substantial offer.

Nevertheless, Tottenham's struggles could influence Porro's thinking.

De Zerbi's side sit 19th in the Premier League without a victory after six matches, potentially increasing the defender's desire to pursue a move next summer.
