Newcastle agree €60m deal to sign Matias Fernandez-Pardo from Lille

Newcastle United have agreed a deal with Lille to sign Matias Fernandez-Pardo in another major addition to Matthias Jaissle's squad.

The Magpies are set to pay €60million plus add-ons for the forward after reaching an agreement with the Ligue 1 club.

Fernandez-Pardo has also given the green light to Newcastle's project, clearing another important hurdle ahead of the transfer being completed.

Newcastle have moved quickly to secure Fernandez-Pardo after identifying the Lille attacker as one of their leading options during the closing stages of the summer transfer window.

An agreement has now been struck between the clubs for a guaranteed €60m fee, with additional payments potentially increasing the final value of the transfer.

Crucially, there is no obstacle on the player's side.

Fernandez-Pardo has said yes to Newcastle's project and is expected to fly out on Monday as the Magpies move towards completing the formalities of the transfer.
