Aston Villa target Neil El Aynaoui as Everton hold transfer advantage

Aston Villa have identified AS Roma midfielder Neil El Aynaoui as a priority signing this summer, but Everton could hold a unique advantage in the race for one of the Premier League's most sought-after midfielders.

The Morocco international has attracted widespread interest following an outstanding 2026 World Cup campaign, with several English clubs now monitoring his situation.

According to reports in Italy, Aston Villa have made El Aynaoui one of their leading midfield targets ahead of the new season.

El Aynaoui joined Roma from Lens in the summer of 2025 and has seen his value rise considerably over the past year.

Although Transfermarkt currently values the midfielder at around €23 million (£20 million), Roma are expected to demand a significantly higher fee if multiple clubs submit formal offers.
