Napoli plan final Gabriel Jesus push but face Lang and Lucca transfer dilemma

Napoli are preparing a final attempt to sign Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus, but must first complete a permanent sale before they can make their move.

With nine days remaining in the transfer window, Jesus remains Napoli’s major attacking target.

The Brazilian is considered capable of adding goals, creativity and unpredictability to Antonio Conte’s attack, and his situation at Arsenal has encouraged Napoli.

Jesus has already been left out of Arsenal’s squads against Manchester City and Coventry City.

According to Corriere dello Sport, sporting director Giovanni Manna continues to work on a potential deal for Jesus.

However, Napoli’s position is clear: they must sell before they can buy.

Noa Lang had appeared to be the most obvious candidate to depart after attracting interest from Atalanta.

Atalanta offered a €2m loan fee, another €1m in bonuses and a €20m option to buy.

Napoli rejected that proposal. If they decide to let Lang leave, they would prefer a permanent transfer rather than a loan with an option.

The problem for Napoli is that the players who could potentially make room for Jesus are increasingly showing their value to Conte.

Lang impressed against Genoa with his quality and willingness to work for the team, strengthening his case for a significant role this season.

Lorenzo Lucca also made a positive impact from the bench, winning possession in the move that eventually produced Napoli’s second goal.

That leaves Manna with a difficult decision as the deadline approaches.

Napoli must now decide who they are prepared to sacrifice before launching their final move for Jesus. With Lang and Lucca strengthening their positions in Conte’s squad, finding the necessary sale could be the biggest obstacle to getting the Arsenal forward.
