That same message is being sent to Inter Milan, who were also linked over the weekend. What Sporting consider “close enough” to €80m, however, remains a grey area — and Spurs may look to negotiate downwards.

Tottenham fans might wince at this detail — Hjulmand has openly spoken of his admiration for Arsenal and reportedly has a Gunners tattoo. While unlikely to derail the deal, it adds a layer of awkwardness to an otherwise logical move.

Never in my life I would want a player at Chelsea with our rivals tattoo I think thats t he same for any other club?!
