"I am very happy at Sporting, but you never know what will happen."

While far from a transfer request, the statement represents a noticeable change from the certainty of his earlier position.

For Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham, the latest comments may not dramatically alter their plans, but they do provide encouragement.
