Mathys Tel wants Tottenham exit as Porto lead race for forward

Mathys Tel's future at Tottenham Hotspur is already under scrutiny after reports suggested the young forward is keen to leave the club only months after completing his permanent move from Bayern Munich.

The France youth international arrived in north London with significant expectations, having been regarded as one of Bayern's brightest attacking prospects. However, after a difficult spell at Spurs, speculation over a summer departure is beginning to gather momentum.

Rather than committing to a permanent deal immediately, Porto are reportedly exploring a loan agreement that would include an option to buy at the end of the season.

Such a structure would reduce the financial risk for the Portuguese club while offering Tel an opportunity to rebuild momentum through regular first-team football.

For Porto, it would also represent a chance to secure a highly-rated talent whose market value could increase significantly if he rediscovers his best form.

Porto are not the only club keeping tabs on the situation.

Reports suggest that French side Lille, German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt and fellow Premier League club Bournemouth have all made enquiries regarding the forward's availability.

The level of interest is not particularly surprising given Tel's reputation prior to his move to England.

While his time at Tottenham has not unfolded as many expected, he remains a player with considerable potential and experience at a relatively young age.

It is clear that competition for attacking places remains intense. If Roberto De Zerbi does not view Tel as an immediate starter, both the player and club may see value in a temporary move that allows him to play consistently.

This situation could become one of the first significant squad decisions facing De Zerbi this summer.

Tottenham invested in Tel because they believed in his long-term potential, meaning a permanent sale after only a short period would represent a major change in strategy.
