Bournemouth manager Marco Rose has described the club's first European home match as a "privilege" after the Cherries secured a 3-0 victory over Sturm Graz in the Europa League.
Goals from Evanilson, Rayan and Alvaro Rodriguez delivered a memorable night at the Vitality Stadium, extending Bournemouth's winning start to the competition.
Having already beaten Real Sociedad in their opening fixture, Rose's side now have two wins from two in Europe despite continuing to struggle in the Premier League.
Rose celebrates Bournemouth's historic European night
Speaking after Thursday's victory, Rose praised his players' response to their recent domestic disappointment.
"It's a big win, a nice win. I'm really proud and happy. It's a privilege to be part of this. It's a special evening," the Bournemouth manager said.
"We should use this performance, the clean sheet and the three goals to get confidence in our performances and results."
The result followed a difficult 5-1 defeat at Chelsea, with Bournemouth still searching for their first Premier League victory of the campaign.
Rose believes the performance against Sturm Graz can help restore confidence ahead of their return to domestic action.
Bournemouth rotation pays off against Sturm Graz
Rose made five changes to his starting line-up, giving several players an opportunity while managing the demands of European and domestic football.
After a relatively quiet opening period, Evanilson broke the deadlock with a header before Rayan added a second goal.
Alvaro Rodriguez completed the scoring from the penalty spot.
Rose defended his decision to rotate, insisting the performance demonstrated the strength of his squad.
"I did it because I was confident and I believe in the lads," he explained.
"We have many players in good shape, we've had good weeks of training. It shows me we are competitive."
The manager was particularly pleased with Bournemouth's clean sheet against a Sturm Graz side known for pressing aggressively.
