Manchester United ready Tchouameni move as €100m price emerges

Manchester United are reportedly preparing to make contact over a major move for Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouameni.

The Red Devils have made strengthening midfield a priority following Casemiro’s departure and a serious injury to Manuel Ugarte. After missing out on Mateus Fernandes, who joined Tottenham, United have turned their attention to one of Europe’s leading defensive midfielders.

According to AS, Manchester United are ready to offer significant money for Tchouameni, with Real Madrid reportedly valuing the France international at around €100 million.

United’s interest in Tchouameni is described as serious, with the club viewing a new midfielder as crucial to Michael Carrick’s project.

The 26-year-old joined Real Madrid from AS Monaco in 2022 and remains under contract until 2028. His current preference is reportedly to stay in Madrid, which represents the biggest obstacle to any potential transfer.

However, Manchester United have not been discouraged.

AS claims initial contact between the clubs could take place in the coming days. Real Madrid are currently waiting to see how the situation develops and could reportedly consider a sale if an offer approaches their €100 million valuation.

Sportitalia journalist Gianluigi Longari has also reported strong interest from United, claiming the club intend to make contact with Real Madrid over a possible deal.

The financial demands would make Tchouameni one of the biggest transfers of the summer. United must also convince the midfielder that a move to Old Trafford is the right step, despite his current desire to remain with Real Madrid.

United’s midfield plans have changed quickly this summer.

Casemiro’s departure created an immediate need for reinforcement, while Ugarte’s injury increased the pressure to add another high-level option. The club also explored a move for Fernandes before losing the race to Tottenham.

Tchouameni would offer Premier League experience at neither club nor international level, but his Champions League pedigree and ability to operate at the base of midfield make him an ambitious solution.

His representatives also manage Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo, although it remains unclear whether that connection could help negotiations.

Manchester United must now decide whether to turn their interest into a concrete offer capable of testing Real Madrid’s position.
