Manchester United told £43m price for Nicolo Tresoldi as striker search continues

Manchester United have reportedly been told it will take around £43million to sign Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi before the transfer window closes.

The 22-year-old has emerged as another attacking option for Michael Carrick, with United reportedly monitoring his situation on a day-to-day basis. However, Club Brugge have no intention of allowing one of their key players to leave cheaply.

According to reports, Brugge have placed a valuation of approximately £43m on Tresoldi following his impressive first year in Belgium.

Roma have already tested their resolve with an offer worth around £29.9m, but that proposal was rejected.

United have yet to make a formal offer, and paying £43m for another striker may not currently be their biggest priority. Carrick’s squad still needs strengthening in other areas, particularly central midfield and at left-back.

However, United’s continued monitoring suggests Tresoldi remains firmly on their radar heading into the final days of the window.

Tresoldi only joined Club Brugge from Hannover 96 last summer but quickly established himself as one of the most promising young strikers in Belgium.

The Germany Under-21 international scored 13 goals in 30 appearances during his breakthrough campaign and helped Brugge win the league title.

He has started the new season in even stronger form, scoring in each of his opening three league appearances. His latest goal proved decisive in Brugge’s victory over Cercle Brugge.

That form has attracted interest from several major European clubs, with Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig and Barcelona also linked with the striker.

United’s interest in Tresoldi comes while the club continue searching for a new left-back.

Alejandro Balde remains a major target, with the Barcelona defender potentially available after falling down the pecking order under Hansi Flick.

Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall had also been considered, but the Magpies have made it clear they have no intention of selling him.

With Luke Shaw now 31 and entering the final year of his contract, United see left-back as an important position for the future.

The question is how much more United are prepared to spend after an already active summer.

Tresoldi would provide Carrick with another young attacking option, but at £43m, United will have to decide whether another striker is worth such a significant late-window investment.
