AC Milan are reportedly considering a late move for Manchester City attacker Jack Grealish as Ruben Amorim searches for another creative option amid uncertainty surrounding Rafael Leao.

The 30-year-old has entered the final year of his Manchester City contract, potentially making him available for a dramatically reduced fee before the transfer window closes.

According to Football Insider, Milan have already expressed their interest and could consider an offer worth around €15million.

Milan make Grealish enquiry

Grealish had appeared likely to return to Everton after spending last season on loan at the Merseyside club.

However, that possibility has cooled considerably.

Everton are reportedly no longer convinced about completing a permanent transfer after manager David Moyes was left unimpressed by certain aspects of Grealish's spell at the club.

That has potentially opened the door for Milan.

The Rossoneri are looking for an attacking midfielder capable of operating from the left, particularly with Leao attracting serious interest from Aston Villa.

Manchester City price could make deal possible

Finances will be crucial to Milan's interest.

With Grealish's Manchester City contract expiring next summer, his valuation has dropped significantly.

Milan reportedly need the asking price to fall below £10m, although suggestions in Italy indicate a deal somewhere around €10-15m could be considered.

That would make Grealish a relatively inexpensive option compared with some of the other attackers Milan could pursue if Leao leaves.

Grealish faces major career decision

The England international has featured in Manchester City's competitive matches so far this season, including a 14-minute substitute appearance in the 2-1 victory over Bournemouth.

He must now decide whether to remain at the Etihad Stadium and fight for a place under Enzo Maresca or consider a new challenge in Serie A.

Grealish showed encouraging signs during his Everton loan, registering two goals and six assists in his first 22 appearances and winning a Premier League Player of the Month award.

However, a foot injury disrupted his season and ultimately contributed to a disappointing end to his spell.

Milan searching for Leao alternative

Grealish is not the only attacker being considered by Milan.

Brighton's Kaoru Mitoma has also been discussed, although concerns about the Japanese international's age, fitness and tactical suitability have reportedly cooled that possibility.

Grealish could provide Amorim with the creativity and experience he wants on the left side of his attack.

Much, however, could depend on whether Rafael Leao actually leaves San Siro before the deadline.

Key Points

  • AC Milan have reportedly made an enquiry about Jack Grealish.
  • Manchester City's asking price may have dropped towards the €10-15m region because his contract expires next summer.
  • Everton have cooled their interest in bringing the winger back permanently.
  • Milan want another left-sided creative player amid uncertainty over Rafael Leao.
  • Grealish must decide whether to fight for his place under Enzo Maresca or consider a move to Serie A.

What’s Next?

Milan's interest could become more concrete if Leao moves closer to leaving the club.

Grealish's contract situation gives Manchester City a decision to make as well. Selling now would allow them to recover a fee rather than risk losing him for nothing next summer.

At the right price, Grealish could therefore emerge as one of Milan's most intriguing late-window opportunities.

Would Jack Grealish be a good replacement for Rafael Leao at AC Milan?
