Liverpool make move for Maghnes Akliouche as PSG battle intensifies

Liverpool have reportedly made an initial approach for Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche as they continue their search for attacking reinforcements ahead of the new Premier League season.

The France international has emerged as one of Europe's most sought-after young wingers following an impressive campaign in Ligue 1, but Liverpool face competition from Paris Saint-Germain, who have already submitted multiple bids for the 24-year-old.

With Andoni Iraola eager to strengthen his attacking options, Akliouche has become one of several wide players under consideration.

According to Sky Sports, Liverpool have made an initial enquiry to assess Akliouche's availability this summer.

The Reds remain in the market for another winger following the departure of Mohamed Salah, with Iraola making it clear that further additions are required before the transfer window closes.

Akliouche is viewed as an attractive option thanks to his versatility, with the ability to operate on the right wing or in a more central attacking role.

Liverpool's interest comes as Paris Saint-Germain continue their long-standing pursuit of the Monaco star.

The French champions have reportedly lodged several offers, the latest believed to be worth around £34 million (€40 million).

PSG have also been linked with other attacking reinforcements, but Akliouche remains one of their priority targets after an outstanding domestic season.

Competition from the Ligue 1 giants could complicate Liverpool's hopes of securing a deal.

Liverpool have also tracked Bradley Barcola and Yan Diomande during the current transfer window.

However, PSG's reported £120 million valuation of Barcola has effectively ruled out a move, while Diomande is also attracting strong interest and is expected to command a significant transfer fee.

Akliouche is regarded as a more affordable alternative, with Monaco reportedly valuing him at around £42 million (€50 million).

Akliouche enjoyed an excellent campaign for Monaco, scoring seven goals and providing 11 assists across all competitions.

His performances earned him a place in France's FIFA World Cup squad, further increasing his reputation across Europe.

At just 24 years of age, Liverpool view the winger as a player capable of making an immediate impact while offering long-term value.

Liverpool are expected to continue assessing Akliouche's availability while monitoring PSG's negotiations with Monaco. If the Reds decide to accelerate their interest, they could face a direct battle with the French champions for one of Ligue 1's brightest attacking talents.
