Marseille threaten Lucas Perri transfer as Torino remain confident of Leeds United agreement

Lucas Perri's proposed move from Leeds United to Torino has suffered another delay, with Marseille making a late attempt to hijack the deal before the Brazilian goalkeeper completes his switch to Italy.

According to TorinoGranata, Marseille have reignited their interest in Perri after previously exploring a move for the Leeds goalkeeper earlier in the transfer window.

The report states the Brazilian had prioritised a move to Torino, with personal terms already agreed and negotiations between the two clubs progressing well.

However, Marseille's renewed approach has delayed the next stage of the transfer, with Perri no longer expected to arrive in Turin as initially planned.

Despite the latest setback, Torino are said to remain cautiously optimistic that the transfer will still be completed.

The Italian club have been waiting for Perri to travel for his medical and believe they remain in a strong position after months of discussions.

As a precaution, Torino have also identified Michele Di Gregorio as an alternative should negotiations unexpectedly collapse. Even so, the current expectation is that Perri's move remains on track.

Perri established himself as Leeds' first-choice goalkeeper during the opening months of last season before losing his place during the second half of the campaign.
