Elliot Anderson has revealed why he chose Manchester City over Manchester United, insisting there was never any doubt over his preferred destination despite attempts from Red Devils players to convince him otherwise.
The England international, who became Manchester City's record signing earlier this summer, admitted he spoke with several United players during a holiday in Portugal but ultimately followed his long-held ambition of playing at the Etihad Stadium.

"I've seen a few things. It was blown out of proportion. I was probably eight or nine when Aguero scored that goal. I've been watching City for the past 10 years. You've got a big decision to make - and I'm confident I've made the right one."

The England international also named Kevin De Bruyne as the player who inspired him throughout his development.
Having spent years watching the Belgian midfielder, Anderson admitted joining the same club carries extra significance.
"De Bruyne was always the player I looked up to over the last 10 years. I loved watching him. To be here at the same club and playing where he played is special."
