Aston Villa revive Jonathan Rowe interest after John McGinn injury setback

Aston Villa have revived their interest in Bologna winger Jonathan Rowe following John McGinn's injury, with fresh enquiries reportedly made over a possible transfer.

According to Corriere di Bologna and journalist Marco Vigarani, the Villans have reopened contact for the 23-year-old as they assess their attacking options ahead of the new season.

Rowe has been on Aston Villa's radar for several months, with reports earlier this summer suggesting the Premier League club were considering a move.

Although Villa eventually strengthened elsewhere, McGinn's recent injury has reportedly forced the club back into the market.

Vigarani claims Aston Villa have now begun making enquiries as they explore whether a deal could be possible before the transfer window closes.

The report argues Bologna are under no pressure to sell.

With defender Jhon Lucumí expected to complete a lucrative transfer, the Serie A side could receive around €80 million in player sales this summer, easing any financial need to cash in on Rowe.

Vigarani believes Bologna must resist the temptation to sell another key player, despite continued interest from England.

Everton previously had a €35 million offer rejected for Rowe earlier this summer.

Subsequent reports have suggested Bologna could consider offers closer to €45 million, although the Italian club had publicly held out for around €50 million.
