Nottingham Forest bid for Jhon Lucumí as Juventus lead transfer race

Nottingham Forest have made an offer for Bologna defender Jhon Lucumí as they step up their search for a new centre-back, although the Colombia international is reportedly prioritising a move to Juventus.

According to Tuttosport, Forest have submitted a proposal worth €20 million plus bonuses for the 28-year-old after missing out on other defensive targets.

Lucumí's future remains uncertain following another impressive season with Bologna and a strong 2026 World Cup campaign with Colombia.

The report states that Forest have offered €20 million plus add-ons for Lucumí as they look to strengthen Oliver Glasner's defence ahead of the new season.

The bid comes after Bologna's €28 million release clause expired, with the Serie A club now hoping to secure around €25 million through negotiations.

However, despite Forest's approach, the defender is not currently convinced by the move.

Lucumí is understood to favour a transfer to Juventus if he leaves Bologna this summer.

The Bianconeri have already seen a €17 million bid rejected but remain confident they can reach an agreement later in the transfer window.

According to the report, Juventus believe Bologna's need to sell before the deadline could eventually work in their favour, allowing them to negotiate a lower fee.

Lucumí has also reportedly rejected interest from Como as he waits to see whether Juventus return with an improved proposal.

Bologna remain relaxed despite growing interest in the Colombian defender.

The club believe the number of teams tracking Lucumí strengthens their negotiating position and are determined to receive around €25 million for one of their key defenders.

Forest may yet have an opportunity if Juventus delay making another offer, although convincing the player could prove just as important as agreeing a fee with Bologna.

Nottingham Forest are expected to decide whether to improve their offer as Bologna continue to hold out for a higher fee. Meanwhile, Juventus are likely to monitor the situation before considering a fresh bid later in the transfer window, leaving Lucumí's future far from resolved.
